What Forked helps with

Your whole library

Every recipe as a photo card, with search across ingredients, steps, and notes. Recipes are saved for reading offline, with servings that scale the amounts.

Edit, favorite, and rate

Change recipes, add new ones, and replace photos from your iPhone. Edits save to your Mealie server, and wait safely while you're offline.

Find dinner faster

Swipe through Quick Picks from your own recipes, ranked by your favorites, ratings, and Chef Profile, with allergies and diets respected.

Plan the week

Build a meal plan from the recipes you already saved, swap any meal, and add any recipe straight from the Library.

Shop with less cleanup

One Shopping list for plans, picks, and your own items. Quantities combine, items sort by store section, and you can share the list.

Cook together

With Forked Pro, a one-time purchase, share a meal plan and shopping list with up to four people through iCloud. Joining is free.

Questions

Do I need a Mealie server?

Yes. Forked connects to your own self-hosted Mealie server and keeps a copy of your recipes on your iPhone. Editing, favorites, ratings, and new recipes need Mealie 3.21 or later. Forked is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Mealie project.

Is Forked free?

Yes. Browsing, editing, Quick Picks, meal plans, Shopping, and cooking are free. Forked Pro is a one-time purchase, shareable with Family Sharing, that adds Households, Plan History, Use This Plan Again, Reuse Ingredients, and Avoid Recent Meals. There are no ads and no subscriptions. Optional tips unlock nothing.

Does it work when my server is offline?

After your first sync, saved recipes, plans, Quick Picks, and Shopping stay ready while your server is slow or unreachable. Edits, favorites, and ratings made offline wait on your iPhone and save when the server is back.

How do I connect a server at home or behind a proxy?

Enter your server's address in Forked. Remote servers need HTTPS; plain HTTP works only for private IP addresses, localhost, and .local names. Self-signed and mkcert certificates on your own network can be trusted in Connection Options. Behind Cloudflare Access or Pangolin, add your proxy's request headers under Connection Options. See Forked Support for reverse proxies and Tailscale.

Is there an Android version?

No. Forked is an iPhone app.

Does Forked work with Tandoor or other recipe servers?

Not yet. Forked supports Mealie today.

Where can I request a feature or report a bug?

On GitHub, at Knownframe/forked-for-mealie. Add a 👍 to the requests you want or open your own, and read the roadmap and changelog. Forked's code is closed source; the repository holds its docs and issue tracker. For setup help, see Forked Support.
